From Our Farmers to Your Table

This summer’s beef has come from the Cumberland Lowline Angus herd in Bassenthwaite. These cattle roam across lush grassland and herb-rich pastures, spending between 27 to 36 months grazing in their natural environment.

They’re from a suckler herd, meaning they spend the first 8–9 months with their mothers, before moving on to a fully grass-fed diet. They’ve never seen grain or hard feed – just the land as nature intended. The result? Exceptional flavour, tenderness, and beef that truly reflects the Lake District landscape.

We’ve had brilliant feedback from customers who’ve tried our boxes in recent weeks – and we can’t wait for you to taste the difference too.

Supporting Local Farming

Farming is facing enormous challenges across the UK. A difficult spring affected crop production, and while summer’s rainfall has given hope for a better second cut of grass, yields remain down. Many farmers will be relying on a third cut just to see them through winter, at the same time as fodder prices continue to rise.
